Major technical equipment serves as a powerful engine driving industrial transformation and upgrading. Actively promoting the research and development of first sets of technical equipment in key areas is a vital strategy for Shandong Province to enhance the core competitiveness of its equipment manufacturing industry.

On July 13, 2022, the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology officially announced the 2022 List of Shandong Province First Sets of Technical Equipment and Key Core Component Manufacturers and Products. Jinlei’s “6MW Ultra-Large Special-Shaped Hole Wind Turbine Shaft” successfully made the list, leveraging its industry-first forging technology for ultra-large special-shaped hole wind turbine shafts. This achievement marks a new breakthrough for the company in the field of large-scale offshore wind turbine main shaft technology, reaching an internationally advanced standard.
With the increasing size of wind turbine generators, particularly for offshore applications, main shafts have become larger in dimension and often feature complex stepped and tapered internal bores with large interface discrepancies. Such structural challenges make profile forging and internal machining extremely difficult. The successful trial production and delivery of the 6MW Ultra-Large Special-Shaped Hole Wind Turbine Shaft proposed a viable solution for replacing cast offshore wind turbine main shafts with forged alternatives. This innovative forging and internal machining process is the first of its kind in the industry, offering inherent technical advantages over existing hollow main shaft forging methods in terms of enhanced efficiency and reduced raw material consumption. It fills a domestic gap in the field of electrical and energy equipment manufacturing.
